As an accredited humanist celebrant and trained professional singer, I specialise in helping you create a memorable and personal ceremony.

Trained and accredited by the Irish Institute of Celebrants, I facilitate marriage, family and naming ceremonies in the Republic of Ireland.

As a classically trained singer, having performed on television, radio, at live corporate events, weddings and in musical theatre for 20+ years, I’m happy to add a musical element to your special day with songs that are special to you and your loved ones. Listen to some examples of wedding music I perform above: personal requests are also possible!

While a ceremony facilitated by The Singing Celebrant can have as much or as little spirituality as you choose, my ceremonies are completely non-denominational. We’ll discuss this in more detail when we meet, but for now, know that my ultimate priority is crafting a ceremony that feels truly special to you, that your loved ones will feel engaged by, and included in, throughout.

Whether you're imagining something playful and fun, intimate and poignant, impactful and elegant, or simple and warm, I’m here to bring your vision to life.

It’s integral that your ceremony reflects who you are, and what your milestone represents. I’ll provide as much guidance and support as you need, and share only what feels right during the ceremony.

Ceremony Options

Handfasting ceremony

Handfasting

Handfasting is an ancient tradition, often associated with Celtic cultures, symbolising the binding of two people in marriage. The term comes from the practice of tying or fastening your hands together with a ribbon or cord, representing your union and commitment to one another.

Coin Promise ceremony

Coin Promise

Also known as an "arras" or "arras coins" ceremony, a Coin Promise ceremony is a tradition with roots in Hispanic cultures. It involves one of you presenting the other with coins in pouch. These coins symbolise the promise to support the couple’s future, while the recipient accepts them as a commitment to mutual responsibility and prosperity. It highlights themes of unity, trust, and your shared future of commitment.

Unity candle cermony

Unity Candle

The unity candle ceremony is a ritual representing the joining of two individuals and their families into one. The couple, or their parents, will each lights a smaller candle and then use these candles to jointly light a larger unity candle. The two flames coming together to create a single flame symbolise your new life together, your shared commitment, and the blending of your individual lives.

Sand ceremony

Sand Ceremony

This symbolic ritual inspired by Native American and Hawaiian traditions represents your union. You’ll pour sand from two separate containers into a single vessel, blending your individual sands to symbolise the merging of your lives into one. The different colours of sand represent your distinct identities and once combined, they cannot be separated—symbolising the permanence of your union.

Remembrance Candle at wedding

Remembrance Candle

This is a symbolic gesture incorporated to honour the memory of loved ones passed. During the ceremony it will be lit in a quiet, reflective moment to signify that those who are no longer present in person are still part of your special day in spirit. It serves as a way to pay tribute to your ancestors, family members, or close friends, acknowledging their lasting impact on your lives. It offers a moment of reflection and remembrance, blending love, loss, and the importance of family connections.
